The Bisbee’s Black & Blue Marlin Tournament is the “Big Daddy” of annual fishing tournaments and this year, from October 19-23, more than 200 teams will be vying for over $4 million in cash awards. This year’s event will be the 30th annual Bisbee’s Black & Blue Marlin Tournament.
Since 2003, there have been seven million dollar winners, making the Black & Blue Marlin Tournament the richest Billfish tournament in the world! The event is regularly covered by media from all over the globe, including Japan and Russia.
In 2009, 94 boats participated in the tournament and 71 Billfish were caught. Total cash awards exceeded $1,926,000.
Entry level fees start at $5,000 per team or $5,500 if registration is performed on the day of the event and go up to $63,100 per team to enter in all the jackpots. Entry fees go toward the Overall Tournament Team Award and the Tournament Jackpots.
